This is the original StatMod page. There is now a version called StatMod Zone which has added functionality and bug fixes. It does require Spatial Analyst, however. StatMod Zone can be found at www.gis.usu.edu/~chrisg/avext/.
StatMod is an extension for ArcView® GIS 3.2 that helps users create predictive statistical models. Logistic regression models are possible if the SAS/STAT® statistical software is available, and classification and regression tree (CART) models are built using the S-PLUS® statistical package.
There are two versions of StatMod. The full version requires the Spatial Analyst extension for ArcView and can handle grid data sets. StatMod Lite only supports vector data and does not require any other ArcView extensions.
It has come to my attention that StatMod doesn't work correctly on UNIX. The dialogs are not formatted correctly and so some of the text is unreadable. In addition, some of the GUI management doesn't work. StatMod can still be used on UNIX, just be aware that the dialogs are mangled, you have to make sure that you choose a radio button in each set because default ones are no longer selected for you, and just click OK when you get various error messages while closing dialogs.
More resources will eventually be available on this site, but for now just the following files are available.

The StatMod Zone extension is the same as the regular StatMod extension, but it also includes a sampling routine which computes zonal statistics for grids based on the polygons in a polygon theme. In addition, it allows independent variables for CART models to be computed using zonal sampling. These options are not discussed in the StatMod User's Guide.
