The USU Confocal Microscopy facility is operated under the direction of Dr. Daryll B. DeWald and managed by Joe Shope. It was purchased in 1997 with funds from the Department of Defense and the USU Vice President of Research.
The facility is available to academic researchers and private industry. Current areas of research include: delivery and metabolism of fluorescently labeled phosphoinositides; guard cell volume changes; flow dynamics in a micro-environment; and cellular uptake of fibers.
The facility is located on the USU campus in the basement of the Veterinary Science Building VSB-106.
